Condition monitoring and predictive maintenance are becoming an inseparable part of industrial automation movement to eliminate unscheduled downtime and prevent critical asset failures. Vibration sensing is crucial for this purpose. Advancements in MEMS technology have led to the development of sensors with wider bandwidth, lower noise, and a larger full-scale range, which historically have been exclusive to piezoelectric vibration sensors. The rise in sensor usage within smart factories has made wireless nodes more relevant, emphasizing the importance of power efficiency. ADI will be discussing our latest compact, low power, industrial-grade, 3-axis digital accelerometer. This ultra-low noise, wide bandwidth sensor features digital capabilities and a flexible, configurable signal chain, enabling effective industrial IoT applications.
