Electrification and automation of the tools we use every day to simplify life has led the number of sensor opportunities to grow exponentially.  As we look towards tracking motion of objects ranging from traction inverters in electric vehicles to refrigerator doors, position sensors have proven to be a reliable way to facilitate the designs we use to improve our day to day lives.  But, when we look into the market to select a product, it becomes clear that there are many different technology options available, each of which each have their own benefits and limitations.  In this session we will discuss factors that are important when choosing between several of the major technologies including Hall-effect, magnetic concentrators, magnetoresistance, and inductive sensors.
